    Is that a joke?

    It’s not really a printer, is it. It’s a model maker. But, what do you have to feed into it to make it spit out the model?

    This sort of stuff is known as 3D printing or additive manufacturing. This one uses their own plastic which comes in reels a bit like cable. I’ve seen a bigger one which uses powdered stainless steel.

    What I like about the Makerbot one is that it brings the concept to the desk top.
