Rising late, I saw that Hove was wreathed in sea mist yet the sun was doing it’s best to get through. Delayed by Marmite toast and strong tea I eventually hit the prom around mid day and found cool air, sunshine and mist. A perfect combination creating an odd sense that Brighton was a stage existing in a bubble out of step with the rest of England. Many would argue that, indeed it does. Tourists drifted in as the mist drifted out and by 2pm the weather was ready for sun bathing and ice cream…..and yes, the dog did get his share.

Circle of Cameras
Here’s a great idea. Get a load of people with cameras. Sit in a circle and all take pictures at the same time of people jumping around in the centr.
Christmas drink – mystery shoes
Up in London last night. Christmas drink. friends from New York. Old work friends. Pints of Guinness. I’ve been going up to this for several years and at some stage usually make the mistake of trying to take some pictures. They all come out awful of course. So this year I thought I’d try something different. This year nobody can complain that they weren’t ready or that the flash had made them look pasty but who can identify the Mystery Shoes?
Photastic week
Last week was an interesting week, if my photos are anything to go by. On Monday, while driving back from work, I got an excellent picture of St. Margaret’s Church near Chipstead. Admittedly there was a burnt out car obstructing the view but you can’t have everything and you have to expect things in such an urban setting.

Burnt Out Car
Then on Wednesday morning I stopped off while driving over the South Downs near Devils Dyke to take a picture of my beautiful Alfa Romeo GT.
Some might call it a mess of ugly weeds but I prefer to see a profusion of scarlet.
Friday found me in Islington and a reasonable picture of two women in front of a door.
